A chemical peel is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that removes the damaged outer layers of skin, essentially speeding up the skin shedding process to reveal fresh, glowing skin, even tone and refined texture. As we age, our cellular turnover slows down and in turn, our skin starts to show signs of sun and environmental damage.  When properly performed, a chemical peel can be very effective at diminishing those signs of aging and damage.

What to expect?

We prepare the skin by cleansing and manually exfoliating the treatment area, then peel solution is gently painted onto the skin. Once the peel has had time to work the solution is removed and a series of nutritive and calming products are applied to the skin to enhance the results. 

 

During the procedure, it is common for the skin to feel warm or hot followed by a stinging sensation. Depending on the type of peel performed you may feel nothing afterward and not even visibly peel, this doesn't mean the peel hasn't worked as there will still be microscopic peeling bringing out fresh and rejuvenated skin. 

 

A chemical peel is designed to remove top layers of skin, and although you may see a reduction in fine lines, shallower wrinkles and some scarring, it cannot tighten skin or treat sagging skin. Deep scars are also difficult to eliminate with a chemical peel and there may be another treatment option better suited for you.
